July has been a real rollercoaster of events and activities for us here at Williams OT. Before we head on to another very busy month of August, here’s a peek on to what our July has been.
First of all, the team behind Williams OT would love to thank you and everyone else who have supported our team from the very start.
We are super proud to have been nominated as a finalist for the 2019 Occupational Therapist of the Year AND 2019 Adult Allied Health Practice Excellence Award.
The awards will be announced in September. Huge thanks to Australian Allied Health Awards for this opportunity!
It is a privilege to help clients with a disability experience the joy of independent driving that the majority of the population take for granted.
Brad, CEO of Williams OT is a member of the GET HOME SAFE FOUNDATION. It is a great cause and we encourage anyone who is interested in road safety to get involved with a membership for just $25.
The Get Home Safe Foundation is excited to be holding our inaugural Gala Evening at Ayers House, Adelaide on 10th August 2019 and we would love to see you there. Don’t want to be a member but want to support a great cause, you can get your ticket on the link below.

Top 3 Road Rules that Drivers Do Incorrectly When We Do Our Assessments
When we undertake an assessment with an experienced driver, one that has had their licence for a few years or more (or maybe many more), we notice that there can be some habitual errors that can creep into drivers function. Click here to find out what they and how to fix them.
2019 OT Conference
We’ve been to the latest National OT Conference held this July in Sydney. And we’ve seen lots of new and exciting technologies that can be of huge help to people with disabilities! Check out the following videos below
Stay cool when driving and in your wheelchair with WheelAir
We’ve partnered with Mobility Engineering from the very start and we are all so excited to add new features to the Williams OT Assessment and Rehab Vehicle!
If you have MS or heat issues from a spinal issue or any other issue, this might be the product for you. We might even get one for summer.
Have we just come up with the next big thing for wheelchair/scooter users when they want to drive?
We found this new wheelchair that is due for arrival in Australia for the first time this month. A remote-controlled wheelchair
Sit in the driver’s seat. Press a button and unload the wheelchair from the back of your station wagon or van. Alternatively, use an outsider or chariot lifter that sits at the back of your smaller sedan or hatchback. Then use your phone to drive the wheelchair to the front door of the car. Transfer over and power yourself away. Could this revolutionary idea, never done before, change your world?
Staff of the month
In this months staff member profile, we are introducing Cody. Cody is our new receptionist and pre-drive booking officer. When you ring Williams OT you will most probably talk with Cody. She is still learning the ropes, but is gradually gathering all the knowledge required to assist you with your calls and emails in the complex area of driving with a disability. Cody has a bubbly personality and brings joy to our team and we are grateful to have her on board.
Hi there, I’m Cody and I am the receptionist at Williams OT. I’ve worked in many roles over my working life. Throughout this time, the one thing I’ve learnt is that I’m a people person. I’m fortunate enough in this role to be able to work with a great team but also with inspiring people.
A fun fact about me; I’m slowly but surely making the office pink, one pen at a time!
Please welcome Cody (even if we are in ongoing discussions about her colour scheme for the office) ?
